Camera Hardware Integration Team Intern

Summer 2023 | Palo Alto, CA

  • Developed 3 MATLAB WebApps to automate simulation workflows, improving overall efficiency by 20-30x.

  • Analyzed colored pixel and point cloud simulation results with coded analytics functions to test for camera field-of-views and tolerancing.

  • Utilized Python APIs and user inputs to the MATLAB user interface to run simulations under the hood.

  • Designed multiple prototypes for an enclosure that allows for mounting of different lenses for testing, a pitch testing bench, and a protective bracket on the forward cameras to prevent pitching down.

  • Conceptualized a fixture for future automation of camera install involving cross-functional team inputs, topology optimization and manufacturing constraints that will lead to significant cost and time savings.

Summer 2022 | Singapore

  • Prototyped a unique mini drone body with a slotting mechanism for easy access to PCB boards before final integration.

  • Analyzed optimal propeller and motor combinations using a thrust stand and RCbenchmark.

  • Presented a safety distance analysis report utilizing an Excel VBA script.

  • Iterated and manufactured heat sinks that would utilize downwash from propellers for cooling outside of drone body.

  • Configured ModalAI sensors to allow drone to fly without visual line of sight.

  • Taught K-12 students how to build their own project in the Summer Engineering Experience using the engineering design processes.

  • Educated middle school students on Google Earth Engine to make a GIF in a NASA-sponsored camp.

  • Organized Puzzlehunt where students would form teams and solve riddles using code.

  • Prototyped a helium air blimp that was controlled using a fin and ballast system.

  • Configured system to an RC controller and attached an FPV camera to the blimp for surveillance using Fat Shark FPV Goggles.
